THREE people have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to prevent burial after officers discovered a dead man in a flat.

Greater Manchester Police were called to Helena Court, Delaunys Road in Crumpsall on Sunday night, following reports of concern for welfare.

Officers entered the flat and discovered the body of a man, believed to be the tenant.

The tenant was a Polish man in his fifties, who had lived in the flat since 2011.

According to the landlord, the man lived on his own but had quite a few friends visiting regularly.

Speaking to MEN, the landlord said: “I’ve not seen him for a few weeks but I actually thought he might have been in hospital because he’s been in and out a few times.”

He added that the man had been ‘no trouble’ and was generally quite mild-mannered.

Neighbours say he was last seen three weeks ago.

A 46-year-old woman, a 30-year-old-man and a 44-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to prevent burial.

The man has not yet been formally identified and a post mortem examination is due to take place.

The block of flats is still accessible to tenants but has been cordoned off from the public while forensics officers examine the area.
